Join our team of volunteers!
We're always looking for passionate volunteers to help organise and support our events throughout the year.
Whether you have a few hours to spare during festivals, or want to take on a larger role in event planning, your contribution helps to bring Chester's heritage to life for our community.
As a not for profit company, we simply could not function without our volunteers!

Get involved in ways that work for you.
You could become one of knowledgeable volunteer tour guides, sharing Chester's fascinating stories with visitors, or supervise heritage walks during our busy festival periods. If you have an eye for capturing special moments, we'd love to have you photograph our events to help document and promote Chester's heritage. These hands-on roles typically require a commitment of 1-2 hours at a time.
For those wanting to dive deeper, you could help us create engaging social media content that brings Chester's past to life online, research exciting new initiatives, or even develop and plan entirely new events that celebrate our city's rich past.

What you will gain from volunteering with us.
Beyond the satisfaction of preserving and promoting Chester's incredible heritage, you'll meet fellow history and heritage enthusiasts, and passionate locals who share your love for our city.
Volunteering with Heritage Chester offers valuable work experience in event management, tourism and community engagement, while helping you develop new skills I'm areas like public speaking, social media, research or project coordination.
Whether you're looking to build your CV, explore new interests or simply connect with your community in a meaningful way, volunteering with us provides a rewarding opportunity to grow personally while making a real difference to how Chester's heritage is celebrated and preserved.
