A chance to drop in and visit St. Werburgh's Church from Monday 14 September to Friday 18 September at 1.00pm - 3.00pm. Come and listen to a talk on the history of the church on Wednesday 16 September at 2.00pm.

About the Event

A chance to drop in and visit St. Werburgh's Church from Monday 14 September to Friday 18 September at 1.00pm - 3.00pm.


Completed in 1875, a fine example of Thirteenth Century Early English style, by Edmund Kirby. Refurbished in 2002. Stained glass windows. Much acclaimed 3 manual Binns/Sixsmith organ installed in 2004.


View displays of artefacts, details or information inside the church, illustrating how the church evolved from its beginnings in secret masses said in houses on Foregate to the eventual completion of building St. Werburgh’s Church.


There will be stewards on hand to answer questions.


Please note on Wednesday 16 September 2.00pm-2.50pm there will be a drop in Free talk by Ann Marie Curtis about the process of “Building St. Werburgh’s” from 2.00pm - 2.50pm.
